Therapeutic Approaches

Solution-Focused Therapy – (SFT)

SFT – is a short-term, goal-focused, evidence-based therapeutic approach which supports the client to be autonomous and construct solutions rather than focusing on problems. SFT can be motivating and emotionally impacting, providing the client tools to implement sustainable behavioral and emotional changes.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – (CBT)

CBT - Developed over years of scientific research and therapeutic clinical practice, it is a popular form of treatment used to support clients to modify their way of thinking. The focus is to provide the client with workable tools to address their current situation and move forward with sustainable change. CBT can be used for a range of problems such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Drug and alcohol misuse, relationship issues and Eating disorders, to list a few.

Person-Centered Strengths-Based Positive Behavioral Intervention Support - (PBIS)

Building on the client’s strengths and identifying strategies to overcome barriers. PBIS is an approach where the clinician works collaboratively with the client and various services and agencies to provide a scaffolding of support. PBIS places the client at the center of the team or network, whose goal is to support the client to be autonomous in their care and recovery.

Client Testimonials

Visiting agencies come to our town that service our daughters age group monthly this often means there is a three month wait time. We were never guaranteed the same clinician, that hasn't been a issue here with Accessible counselling. Our daughter (15 ASD) has been able to have a continuity of ongoing support that is tailored flexible delivery to her needs and has been able to be billed to her NDIS plan.
I came to this service through my EAP. I was offered 3 sessions. At first, I did not think i would get anything out of three sessions, but I did. It was such a valuable experience. I still use the tools and feel so much better for it.

Mission Statement

We believe rural should not equal long waits and long drives. Accessible Counselling aims to provide quality service with rapid response at a competitive rate.
